What to Know

Critics Consensus

Bill Nye doesn't miss a beat as he returns to reeling off ebullient explainers of science and proselytize the importance of data and facts, although the more adult programming of this new series sometimes chafes against his youth-oriented teaching style.

Bill Nye Saves the World: Season 1 | Rotten Tomatoes (1) Brad Newsome Sydney Morning Herald Sadly, Nye's crucial first episode about vaccines and misguided fears about vaccination seems woefully misjudged. Mar 29, 2018 Full Review Bill Nye Saves the World: Season 1 | Rotten Tomatoes (2) John Bonazzo Observer If you want '90s nostalgia that doesn't make your brain hurt, watch Fuller House instead. Apr 26, 2017 Full Review Bill Nye Saves the World: Season 1 | Rotten Tomatoes (3) Aja Romano Vox At its best, this approach is enlightening and empowering, rather than alienating. And Nye's skepticism is undeniably at its best in an early episode addressing vaccinations. Apr 21, 2017 Full Review Bill Nye Saves the World: Season 1 | Rotten Tomatoes (4) Sean Mulvihill FanboyNation.com Will this Netflix show save the world? Probably not. But Bill Nye Saves the World will help people understand complex scientific issues without hyperbole or political bias. Rated: 4/5 Oct 31, 2018 Full Review Bill Nye Saves the World: Season 1 | Rotten Tomatoes (5) Michelle Jaworski The Daily Dot Bill Nye Saves the World is a work in progress, but it's sprinkled with enough nostalgic factors to satisfy his older fans without being completely overwhelmed by them. Sep 7, 2017 Full Review Bill Nye Saves the World: Season 1 | Rotten Tomatoes (6) Chase Burns The Stranger (Seattle, WA) If you have even a remote sentimental connection to Bill Nye the Science Guy, then Bill Nye Saves the World will make you happy cry and, at least in my case, snap at the TV while whining, 'Yas, Bill. Yasssss.' Aug 24, 2017 Full Review Read all reviews

Roberto L This doesn't seem like science and there is SO much wrong with this show. As an example: Paleo diet means only eating meat? or Nobody wants nuclear power? It's nearly the opposite of the Bill Nye shows of our youth we were hoping for here. "Settled science" is the opposite of science. When you misrepresent or deny any point of view but your own, you are not participating in science. If "settled science" was the measure then we'd still all believe in a sun going around the earth, Einstein's static universe, phrenology and spontaneous generation (to name a few). All science has to be able to update and adapt or it isn't science.
