Below Deck Down Under season 3 deserves a new chief stew, and there's one name that can easily replace Aesha Scott. The reality TV spin-off is one of Bravo's most popular shows. While it's newer than Below Deck Mediterranean and Below Deck Sailing Yacht, it has already featured some of the most entertaining seasons in the franchise. Below Deck Down Under features Captain Jason Chambers, whose masculine energy makes everything feel more energetic. His past two seasons have been some of the best in the Below Deck franchise, and the upcoming one may top the previous two.
Below Deck Down Under season 3 will feature a new crew with a few familiar faces. Aesha, who has been working with Captain Sandy Yawn and recently filmed Below Deck Mediterranean, won't return to Captain Jason's boat. Following the tradition of past seasons, most crew members will also be new. Season 3 should be full of new drama and unexpected moments. Captain Jason has also mentioned that production for Below Deck Down Under has changed significantly, perhaps explaining why the show didn't premiere in the summer. Season 3 should be released sometime after Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 5.
Tumi Mhlongo Should be The New Below Deck Down Under Chief Stew
Tumi Has The Potential To Be An Amazing Lead
Former Below Deck star Tumi Mhlongo deserves to return to Below Deck Down Under season 3 and correct the mistakes she made last year. The South African stew debuted in Below Deck Down Under season 1 as the second stew, working under her team lead, Aesha. Tumi made several wise decisions during the season, demonstrating her potential. She excelled at serving the charter guests and proved herself to be an excellent crew member. Tumi became one of the fan-favorite cast members in the franchise for being dedicated yet unproblematic.

She could showcase her growth as a chief stew on Captain Jason's boat to viewers. Tumi is a hardworking crew member with a strong set of beliefs. She has been dominating the yachting world and would make for a fantastic lead in the Below Deck spin-off. Since Aesha is no longer on the season after her recent appearance on Below Deck Mediterranean, Tumi could effortlessly fill her shoes on Below Deck Down Under.
Tumi Has Already Worked As One On Below Deck Mediterranean
Tumi & Natasha "Tasha" Webb Butted Heads
Tumi last appeared in Bravo's Below Deck Mediterranean season 8. She joined the spin-off as a chief stew, replacing Natasha Webb from season 7. Unfortunately, Tumi's debut season as the chief stew didn't go smoothly. She joined the show in the second episode, immediately clashing with temporary chief stewardess Natalya Scudder, who had handled the responsibilities of a stew on the yacht in episode 1. Tumi not only started on the wrong foot but also remained unapologetic towards Natalya, causing a lot of drama that escalated over time.
While Tumi effectively managed her team of stews, she couldn't repair her relationship with Natalya.
In fact, she made a significant mistake by seeking advice from Kyle Viljoen, a fellow South African known for causing drama with the franchise. Tumi fell into Kyle's manipulation, which allowed him to fuel her animosity towards Natalya. The situation deteriorated to the point where Captain Sandy had to issue multiple warnings to crew members to mediate the conflict. Ultimately, things improved after Natalya quit the season in episode 9, resulting in backlash from viewers towards Tumi and Kyle, tarnishing their reputations.
Tumi Could Do A Better Job Her Second Time As A Chief Stew
Tumi Deserves Another Opportunity To Showcase Her Potential
Like most cast members, Tumi deserves a chance to shine on the show. She's an excellent worker who failed to impress the captain in Below Deck Mediterranean.
Appearing in Below Deck Down Under will allow her to improve her image and become recognized for her expertise and excellent managing skills as a chief stew. Tumi is also familiar with working under Captain Jason. Below Deck Down Under season 3 would be the perfect platform for the South African stew to showcase her redemption arc and secure her place as an iconic lead.
Below Deck Down Under seasons 1 & 2 are available to stream on Peacock.
